Kazakhstan lacks skilled cancer care professionals

"Kazakhstan lacks healthcare professionals trained in cancer treatment filed and shortage of cancer laboratories equipment," chief surgeon of the Kazakh Healthcare and Social Development Ministry Nurlan Kidirbayev said.

"The situation remains quite difficult in the country despite cancer mortality positive dynamics. The cancer treatment fileld observes lack of skilled healthcare and allied professionals, insufficient material and technical foundation of cancer laboratories and polyclinics", he said addressing the international scientific and practical conference "Modern problems of pre-cancer and early alimentary cancer problems" in Astana.

"Besides, cancer patients seek treatment abroad for innovation methods are still unavailable in Kazakhstan. There is practically no rehabilitation and palliative assistance in the country," he stressed. 

According to him to join the countries with the most advanced technologies for cancer studying and treating, Kazakhstan is actively developing international cooperation.
