2 Kazakhstan medicine producers meet GMP standards

Two Kazakhstan producers of medicines have Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) quality certificates, the Responsible Secretary of Kazakhstan Health Ministry Serikbol Musinov said during the meeting of the Social and Cultural Development Committee, BNews.kz correspondent reports.
"The work on introduction of the "GMP" international quality standards at the pharmaceutical enterprises of Kazakhstan is executed now. There are only 4 work centers belonging to 2 medicine producers "Chimpharm" JSC and "Nobel AFF" JSC meet the GMP standards in Kazakhstan," Serikbol Musainov said.
According to S. Musinov, other 18 producers also plan to receive GMP certificates. Currently they are doing everything possible for this: build new facilitiess, repair old ones and train specialists. The process of international inspector training is ongoing.
"In addition the work on accession of Kazakhstan to the international system of cooperation of pharmaceutical inspections (PIC/S) is executed. This year March Kazakhstan will be granted the status of the applicant for the PIC/S entry," he concluded.
