Pavlodar launches early cancer detection project

PAVLODAR. "A pilot project on early cancer detection and treatment developed by a group of experts of the National Medical Holding was launched in the Pavlodar region," its CEO, well-known scientist, professor Kennet Alibek told journalists.
The project will be realized jointly with the representatives of the holding's academic partner, the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC). It will be realized in two stages to detect a risk group, create the corresponding database and hold free medical examination then.
The foreign experts will give master classes on the up-to-date diagnostics and world standards treatment approaches.
As analysis reveal detection of neoplastic processes at late stages and insufficient screening of pre-malignant conditions are the leading causes of high lethality of cancer diseases. The integrated national methodology on early detection and treatment of malignant neoplasms will be developed in Kazakhstan regarding the results of the project realization.
