President Nazarbayev praises progress in healthcare sector in S Kazakhstan

During the meeting with businessmen of the region at the center, President Nazarbayev noted positive dynamics of socioeconomic indicators in southern Kazakhstan. 

The Kazakh leader also paid attention to the work on development of entrepreneurship in the province. He especially noted that a well-developed transport system, including the Western Europe - Western China corridor, railroads and pipelines stretching through the territory of the South Kazakhstan region creates additional favorable conditions for business.

Improvements in the healthcare system were mentioned as well. "We've managed to raise life expectancy in the region to over 3 years. Infant and mother mortality has slumped drastically. This is our main achievement," the Head of State said.

In addition, governor of the South Kazakhstan region Askar Myrzakhmetov reported to the President on the socioeconomic development of the region.
